This week STEM Club had great fun learning all about shadows. We made spooktastic shadow puppets using opaque and translucent materials and discussed whether a light source needs to be close to or far away from the puppet to make the best shadow. Then we switched off the light and tested our theories. As you can see, Halloween has come early in Year 2.

In STEM Club this week we have been investigating 3D structures. We used jelly beans and wooden sticks to build cubes, prisms and pyramids. It was very tricky as the jelly beans were hard and the sticks were brittle. A lot of discussion took place about the best techniques to use when building your shape. Evaluating our end results, STEM Club decided that next time we would try marshmallows and jelly babies as they are softer. Well done STEM Clubbers!
