It has been a chilly week this week! We have kept ourselves moving and busy to keep ourselves warm!
Frosty Daily Miles!
It has been super beautiful on our Daily Miles this week. The grass has been glistening and we have loved running on the field where the mud has iced over hard. What a wonderful way to start the day!
Ballet
Miss Holly was so impressed with our ballet today and by how much progress has been made. Well done, Year 1 for all that hard work!

Number bonds!
We have gone number bond crazy this week! We have done lots of fun activities to make those number facts stick in our heads. There will be some added extras on Doodle Maths if you want to carry on this work at home!

Matching pairs of numbers to make 10 or 20. Initially in groups and then on our own.
Working on our own making pairs to 10 or 20. Some of us even used the 5, 2 or 1 minute timer to test our speed of recall!
Science
We enjoyed learning about sources of light and things that reflect light. We went on a walk to find different sources of light and things that reflect light. These are the photographs that the children took!
Fun in the woods!
We loved playing in the Autumn leaves even though it is Winter. We spotted some deer prints in the mud and had a magical encounter with a deer! We played listening games on the way to see what we could hear.
Master pieces!
We have looked at the painting, Starry Night, by Vincent Van Gogh. This is us starting our master pieces.....
Music
We were lucky enough to have a wonderful demonstration from Miss Pickering which included the recorder, the tin whistle and the fife. Then we each got to play the recorder and learnt our first note! We hope that some of the children will want to go on to learn the recorder so that we can get a group of budding musicians!
