Summer - Week 3

In Maths, we have been continuing to count in 2s, 5s and 10s and making equal groups. We have also worked on adding equal groups and written repeated additions to represent the groups. We ended the week with making arrays and putting objects in rows and columns to making adding groups easier.

In English, we completed our LOST posters for Beegu and put them up on our classroom windows. Please do take a look and help us find Beegu!

We also discovered more friendly aliens have been visiting our school, so we used our descriptive writing skills to describe them and make 'Have you seen this alien?' posters to put around our school.

We have also begun our class story, Beegu, which we read and sequenced the parts of the story to help us understand the order of the key parts of the story. We then used the pictures in the story to create freeze frames of how Beegu felt in the story.

In Geography, we learnt to locate the four countries of the UK on a map. We cut out the UK map puzzle pieces and put them together again to make the UK.

In PSHE, we learnt about the importance of endurance, flexibility, strength and balance when exercising and how this helps our bodies to be healthy. We created an exercise plan for the whole family to enjoy.

Y1's trip to Winchester Science Centre was a blast! We visited the Planetarium to learn about our sun, moon and the solar system. We explored the space exhibition and created our own rockets!

Happy Birthday to Teodor!
