Neve came to visit!
We were so excited to have Neve visiting us. She had a great day and all of the Year 1 children were so welcoming. Neve is starting after half term and we are all looking forward to having her!
We had a wonderful time celebrating Chinese New Year! We tried fortune cookies, learnt an amazing Chinese Dance, made Chinese New Year crafts, ate a delicious Chinese lunch and learnt all about the different customs and traditions as well as the story behind Chinese New Year. We learnt that we were all monkeys or sheep, Mrs Murray is a dragon (a nice one!) and Mrs Ford is a rabbit. We learnt what traits the animals have and they seemed to fit very well with us all! What a lot of fun and learning!
Rather a lot of photos (sorry!) I got so carried away!
Sebi wrote us a Chinese New Year card because his Grandad is Chinese. We thought it was a wonderful card! Thank you, Sebi.
We tried fortune cookies at break time!
The Year of the Tiger lanterns!
Well done Jack for working hard at home!
Weighing
Maths has been all about weighing this week! We have had lots of fun weighing and comparing different objects.
Constellations
This week we learnt all about what a constellation is and we made constellation telescopes. We also learnt how to find the North Star. We are looking forward to seeing some of these on our Star Gazing night in a week's time.
The weather is warm enough for bug spotting!
We had great fun on the charity aerobathon!
