More and More Maths!
We have had such a busy week in Maths! We started off by measuring snakes using non-standard units (cubes).
We tried to find things that were bigger or smaller or the same as, a metre. It was lots of fun testing our estimates!
Symmetry
We made the most fabulous symmetrical shields. I think any knight would be proud to have one of these to use in battle!
Counting and ordering to 20
Counting can be really tricky. So we are making sure that we count slowly and point to each object so that we don't make any silly sausage mistakes!
We are so excited to have started Star of the Day! Of the many privileges you get for Star of the Day, is to feed the gerbils, Magic and Bubble! If you haven't been Star of the Day yet, don't worry, keep working hard and being kind and helpful. Mrs Murray and Mrs Ford are watching!
Science- Materials and their properties.
We have started thinking about the properties of materials. We played a really fun game where we used the properties of the materials to guess which material was inside the box! We all had a guess and then waited for the Grand Reveal! Well done everyone for playing the game fairly and for keeping to the no peeking promise!
Art- Stained Glass windows
We made stained glass windows in Art today. We also brought in some Science when we talked about see-through, translucent and opaque. The windows look beautiful on the classroom windows with the light streaming in!
Making Music
We had so much fun with Mr Winkworth playing the African drums and practising different rhythms!
Tasty marshmallows!
We loved cooking the marshmallows in the woods this week! The marshmallows were eaten so quickly that I didn't manage to get a picture of everyone!
