English
This week, we have used our book 'What makes me a me?' to inspire us to think of words to describe ourselves. We each created our own descriptions and then chose the best ones to add to our class poem. Here is our finished poem...
Maths
This week, Year 1 s have been learning to understand, count, represent and write the numbers 10-20. They used different equipment to represent the numbers.
We learnt how to find one more and one less than a number. When we answered a question, we had to find the bucket with the answer to then get the next question.
Science
In science, we learnt about the parts of the face and how they help us. We then made our own funny paper plate faces using collage materials and labelled the key parts of the face.

History
I think this was the children's favourite lesson of the week, as they got to explore a range of toys and be history detectives by identifying whether the toy was from the past or the present. Then, playing with the toys was the highlight of the lesson!
Reading with Mrs Smith and Bess
Show and Share / Wet Play Fun
Show and Share seems to be the most popular session for the Year 1s! They love spending a minute talking about their favourite things from home, while the rest carefully listen and then ask considerate questions!
